ugh

Yup, I messed up again.  Feels awful to fall short only 3 points.  Now I will have to take AUD under the new CBT-e and prepare for increased emphasis on Auditor Independence and Ethics.

Below is my scorecard from my retake:

Black = AUD Scores from my 2nd attempt

Apparently, I got worse at Internal Controls and didn’t put enough study time on Information/Evidence topics.

The first time I took AUD, my sims were easy.  Sim #1 was mostly spreadsheet calculations and Sim #2 was time consuming because of the wordy directions, but still easy spreadsheet stuff.

For my retake, the simulations were rough.  My sims were mostly matching and identification.  I knew I was in trouble because for one of my identification tabs, I used the same answer choice 5 out of 6 times…

Hopefully using Roger CPA Review for my AUD retake will get me the points I need!

Must pass AUD!!!

Yep.  I felt pretty good after averaging a 74 on my first attempt of the first 419 Gleim practice questions (Study Units 1, 2, & 3).

Little did I know the trouble that lie ahead in Study Units 4 through 9 – Internal Controls.  I’m pretty confused and overwhelmed right now.  I think it’s because I no longer have CPA excel, but continue to use their 2009 textbook.  I heard CPAexcel was supposed to be great for AUD… so far I have to disagree.  I actually prefer the Gleim book to CPAexcel’s funky organization.  Gleim pretty much covers everything while CPAexcel leaves out alot

in FAR

Studying for FAR sucks.

Everything I plan on studying from now until April 19 is a list of stuff I am weak in due to the material being: 1) ridiculously boring (pensions), 2) too long or too difficult to remember without constant exposure or practice (gov, nfp), and 3) it’s gosh darn torture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get short of breath just thinking about what I need to study tomorrow.

I’d rather read about Inventory.  But alas, there’s no reason for me to spend anymore time reviewing Inventory while I know absolutely nothing, 0% about pensions.

Also, I’d estimate that my brain absorbed maybe 2% to 10% of the Yaeger Gov/NFP lecture material.  It’s not so much that it’s difficult to learn, it’s more because: holy crap, I don’t care, I don’t care, I don’t care, I DON’T CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, enough studying, I’m starting to scare myself because now I’m smiling/laughing/smirking hysterically at the thought of reading about gov/nfp or pensions.
