I got my Payment Coupon from NASBA today and thought today was going to be a great day because I was hoping to finally schedule my FAR exam. Nope, just more waiting.
App of Intent:
1/20 – Submitted via mail
1/25 – Received and Processed by state board
2/8 – Approved
Eligibility App:
2/9 – Submitted online
2/11 – Approved by state board
2/17 – NASBA Payment Coupon received and (hopefully) paid-I didn’t get a freaking receipt or confirmation email saying that I paid and it is driving me CRAZY!!
Still aiming for 4/10 for FARS and 5/10 for BEC.

I had to wait until January 18, 2010 to finally mail my Application of Intent for the CPA exam. I wanted to submit my App of Intent back in December, but the school I went to for my credits was using a new grading system and had told me my fall 09 transcripts would not be ready until mid January.
I mailed my App of Intent on 1/18/2010 and received an email from TSBPA on 1/20/2010 that they received my application. My App of Intent was finally approved for February 8, 2010. I waited about 2.5 weeks which was around what I expected.
After the App of Intent, I had to submit the online Eligibility Application. It cost me $15 x 2 sections to register for FAR and BEC. On 2/10/2010, my Eligibility App was approved and now I am waiting for an email or letter from NASBA with my exam coupon so that I can pay $399.10 for the sections. After paying NASBA, I should then receive a Notice to Schedule (NTS) which should FINALLY allow me to set the dates for my exams!!
Something I wish I could do over:
If I had known the 90 days to schedule the test started from the day I submitted the Eligibility App., I would have waited until Feb 28 or March 1 so that I could have a full 60 days worth of options to schedule my exams. I now have until May 10 to take FAR and BEC. Hopefully, I can schedule FAR on April 10 and BEC on May 10. I was hoping for FAR on April 1 and BEC on May 31, but I’ll be fine because I only work part-time and can spend 30+hours a week studying.
