Materials:
CPAexcel
Gleim Book/Software Questions
Wiley Book
Wiley Fasttrack
Yaeger Lectures
I definitely went a bit overboard on the materials and probably won’t even get around to using Yaeger.
Study plan:
Complete 1 CPAexcel study module (18 modules total)
Read corresponding Gleim Study unit (20 units total)
Use Gleim Software practice questions (1800+ questions)
Review at the end of each week – Practice questions, read notes, and read Wiley Fasttrack
Final review (1 week before exam):
Practice CPAexcel Simulations
Practice Essay writing/grammar/organization/typical phrases
Simulated Exams
Review notes
BTW, I forgot to mention that I used Wiley Fasttrack for BEC. I like using Wiley Fasttrack as a review of material I learned. Fasttrack is a condensed version of the Wiley CPA review books that focuses on the “most important” topics/concepts. It was great for BEC because I was cramming so much information in 3 weeks and Fasttrack focused my review on the key topics. The only knock on Fasstrack is that it’s outdated (written in 2008), but if I know my stuff, I should be able to catch any outdated material.
Around mid-June, once I’m halfway through studying, I plan to schedule my AUD exam on July 5, or 7. I will take a few days off from studying and then begin studying for REG on July 11. Hopefully, I can finish studying for REG before the end of the testing window. I think 7 weeks of studying REG is cutting it a bit close because I barely got a C in my only tax class. Then again, I took tax over 2 years ago. My work ethic and focus has changed since then.
